Method 10: Eating meals earlier in the day to lose weight

Hedy, 28, lose 5 kg in a month

“Hedy, your body shape changed so greatly…” Recently, I have heard of these words most when meeting with friends. Before that, I searched all over the universe to find a way of losing my weight, but the results were the same – failed. Once, I read an article on a magazine titled “Change Your Life Schedule”, which taught me to start to change my meal time. After months, my weight dropped significantly. 

Principle of weight loss

Japanese experts on weight loss found that the time of daily meals is more important than the quantity and quality of the food intake. It is because the rate of human metabolism varies with time. Generally speaking, the metabolism increases from getting up to the peak at 8am to 12am.People who want lose weight should eat meals earlier. Have breakfast at 6am and have lunch at 10am. After a period, you can see the effects on weight loss.

There was an experiment with people of normal weight divided into groups. One group ate in the morning while the other group eats only at night. After a week, the average weight of the people in first group decreased by 0.86 kg, and that of people in second group increased 0.45 kg. During the second week, the two groups traded roles, i.e. the first group ate only at night while the other group ate in the morning. After one week again, the average weight of the people in the first group increased 0.36 kg. This experiment explains that the human metabolism is fast in the morning and weak at night.

Research by magazine Metabolism showed that there will be adverse body checking effects if you miss a meal and eat a lot between 4p-8p.

It is awful, isn’t it? However, I met a lot people that drain themselves to work for a whole day so that they do not have any time to eat, overlooking their need for food. After a fasting a day, they reward themselves with a big meal, which is relaxing, but not good.

The speed of foods leaving the stomach, i.e. the rate of gastric emptying, will decrease at night. In addition, during the day time, the ability of processing glucose of the body drops over time. Eating a big meal with high carbohydrate content at 8pm instead of in the morning will make it hard for your body to process. One hour after falling asleep, which is mostly at mid night, the level of somatotropic hormone (growth) will be highest. Insulin resists the hormone; therefore, the last thing you want to do is eat carbohydrates, which will raise insulin levels to affect the somatotropic hormone, a precious fat burning hormone.

Thus, it is very important to not eat anything before bed. Meals during the day add muscle glycogen, but to the end of the same day, all the glycogen storage sites have been filled up. There are 7 to 8 hours later that without burning any calorie. Therefore, your calorie intake will be directly converted into fat.

Suggestion: Make your three meals earlier and eat nothing before sleep.

Remember: have a breakfast like a king, have a lunch like a princess and have a dinner like

a pauper.
