Method 4: Fasting Therapy

During a period of fasting, the body will convert stored fat into energy it needs to power itself. It will also rid itself of many toxins. Removing the toxins from the blood will increase circulation, which will improve the appearance of the skin. Memory function will also be increased once the toxins start to dissipate. Clear thinking, sharpened reflexes and increased willpower are just a few of the mental benefits associated with fasting.

Time

Start fasting at breakfast and aim for half a day. Gradually increase the length of your fast from lunch to mid afternoon to dinner time until you can go an entire day. Then try a day and a half, then two days and so on. Be advised that you will experience a lot of detox symptoms as you fast, like irritability. So be kind to yourself and don't push yourself too hard.

Methods

During your fast, be sure to drink lots of water to keep hydrated. Gradually wean yourself off food instead of going cold turkey. You can shock your body if you deprive it from food suddenly. So start your fast by drinking some protein-based juices along with the water. Then gradually work your way down. The same rules in reverse apply when you end your fast. Do not gorge yourself because you feel deprived. Gradually re-introduce foods back into your system a little at a time.
